Gate Steward / Wristbanding

Attend the UK’s best festivals for less than a trip to the cinema as a wristband volunteer with Festaff. We help place enthusiastic, friendly volunteers at some of the UK’s biggest and best-known events – will you be joining us in 2019?

With over 15 years’ experience, we’re one of the best-known and highly trusted groups, meaning we have opportunities available at everything from The Isle of Wight Festival to Creamfields. We’re on the hunt for personable, friendly faces to welcome attendees and issue wristbands, ensuring everyone enters safely and has the best time they can.

In return, you’ll be given shifts that allow you to make the most of the festival, make new friends and gain invaluable experience. We allow for each of our volunteers to get plenty of time to enjoy the festival in return for all your hard work – we want you to have as much fun as you can.

What does wristbanding entail?

Wristbanding is a relatively straightforward job, but it’s absolutely vital for the safe-running of a festival. You’ll often be collecting tickets on the festival gates, giving out wristbands and handing ticket stubs to the relevant team members. You’re responsible for getting ticket-holders safely through the entry gates and helping the event staff keep track of numbers and attendees.

The roles and responsibilities you have will be different at each and every festival (and may be likely to change on a day-to-day basis), but as a wristbander your job might including acting as a:

  • Gate Steward
  • Ticket Ripper / Scanner
  • Tallier

Ideally as a Festaff wristband volunteer, you’ll be friendly, approachable and maintain good spirits (even if it’s the last day of the festival). You’ll often be the first person visitors speak to when they arrive and it will be your job to start them off with a great atmosphere they’ll want to maintain. We welcome many of our team back year after year and we try and provide as much fun (and experience) as we can.
