Festaff Bond Guidelines


Festaff Bond Payment.

All applicants to Festaff will have to deposit a small bond of £25 (plus a non refundable £10 admin fee) for each event they are applying to volunteer at. If an applicant is offered a position at an event and they fulfil their role, then their bond will be returned to them on the last day of the event (minus the admin fee).

Why have you introduced bonds?

In order for Festaff to provide a reliable service to festivals we need to ensure that our staff turn up on time and carry out the tasks delegated to them. In the past a number of applicants have accepted positions at events but then decided not to turn up. Some have informed us of their decision; many have not. This puts unfair pressure on those who have turned up and taken their responsibilities seriously. By introducing a bond we hope to make applicants think a little more carefully before submitting their application.

 

How much is the bond?

£25 per event applied for.

 

How much is the admin fee?

£10 per event applied for.

 

When do I pay my bond?

Applicants pay the bond via PayPal when submitting their application.

 

If I am accepted for an event when will my bond be returned to me?

At a pre-organised time, usually on the afternoon of the last day of the event or after your last shift.

 

Will my bond guarantee me a place at an event?

No. But if you apply early and pay the bond there is a very good chance you will be accepted.

 

When will I find out if my application has been successful?

We will try to let all applicants know our decision at least one month prior to the event in question but will strive to let you know as soon as we can.

 

Can I swap my bond from event to event if I change my mind?

Bonds are not transferrable between applicants or events.

 

What if I am not offered a place at the event?

A refund will be sent to you at the earliest possible convenience.

If you withdraw prior to places being offered at an event your full £10 admin charge will be withheld.

 

Under what circumstances might my bond might not be returned to me?

  • You pull out of an event 4 weeks or less prior to the date you were required on site at any event.
  • You fail to turn up for an event or shift.
  • You fail to undertake your responsibilities during the event.
  • You turn up late for shift(s).
  • You are disruptive on site at anytime during the festival.
  • You are asked to leave by Festaff for any reason.

 

What happens if I am offered a place at an event but turn it down?

Your £10 admin fee will be withheld. If you decline a role a refund of your £25 bond will be made after the event in question.

 

When do I collect my bond?

All bonds must be picked up on site within the timeframe given at the staff meeting. Failure to do this may result in a further admin fee being charged.

 

What happens if I don’t pick my bond up on site?

You need to wait until we can refund your bond to you via PayPal. This could be the end of the summer season in September, and subject to a further admin fee.

 

Please note:

Bonds can only be refunded by PayPal to the original account that they were paid out from. These cannot be refunded to a different account under any circumstances.

Declined roles may be refunded by cheque. It is your responsibility to keep Festaff informed of any changes in address that may occur. If you do not, a fee of £10 per cheque may be incurred for re-issued cheques. These will be refunded after the event in question.
